!!! PEOPLES UNIVERSITY OF MEDICAL & HEALTH SCIENCES FOR WOMEN- SHAHEED BENAZIRABAD !!!

This department has been established since 19-07-1999. Our primary aim is to manage neurosurgery emergencies and neurological disorders requiring surgical correction. We are providing emergency cover for the needy patients of Nawabshah (Shaheed benaziarabd) district and surrounding districts like Sanghar, Naushahro Feroz, Dadu and Khairpur, even we receive patients from Baluchistan, with minimum expenses. We provide services round the 24 hours throughout the year. There are two OPD days and three Operation days in a week.

Our department has facility of C.T Scan, Electro-Neurophysiology and Myelography. MRI is also available and will be made functional soon.

Besides clinical support, we are also providing teaching facility to the undergraduate and post graduate students. It is recognized for post graduate training by the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences (LUMHS) and Peoples University of Medical & Health Sciences for Women (PUMHSW).

We have special interest in Neuro-endoscopy, Spinal Fixation and Brain Tumors.

We are carrying research in CNS anomalies, hatchet injuries, spinal fixation and Neuro-endoscopy specially ETV (Endoscopic Third Ventriculostomy) in adult and pediatric population.

Future Planning

We are planning to promote this department as an Institute of Neuro-sciences.
